James Franklin Returns From Turkey Vacation With New Look

James Franklin has returned from a quick vacation to Turkey with a new look ahead of spring practice. Penn State’s head football coach will enter the 2025 college football season with a new head of hair and plans on growing it out until he wins a national championship.
While many noticed Franklin was out of State College over the weekend, he attended Tuesday’s press conference donning a new look.
“Throughout my time here, I always felt something was missing,” Franklin told Onward State. “I haven’t had anything on top of my head since before I was under center at East Stroudsburg. Everyday serves as a reminder that I haven’t had hair for years. I’m constantly surrounded by talented athletes who have a full head of hair.”
“I wanted to get my confidence back,” Franklin continued. “I don’t see the harm in it. As long as Drew [Allar] doesn’t get jealous of the flow, it should be great for the program.”
Franklin’s new look comes as a surprise to Penn State fans and is garnering much attention across social media.
“I know I said Sunday is the rest day for the scalp, but I decided to take a trip to Turkey. Somebody has to replace Tyler Warren’s energy. That’s why I went blonde,” said Franklin.
When the Nittany Lions played Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl, Franklin complimented Marcus Freeman’s hairline.
“Look at the hairline on this guy, envious of his hairline in a lot of ways,” Franklin said with a smile.
On Tuesday, Franklin admitted that Freeman’s hairline has been engraved in his mind since the Nittany Lions faced Notre Dame.
“He’s the reason I made the decision,” Franklin said. “Just take a look at the guy. His hairline is magnificent.”
