Alumni Association To Offer Online Artificial Intelligence Course To All Penn State Alumni

With artificial intelligence (AI) becoming more prevalent in the professional world, the Penn State Alumni Association is partnering with the Bellisario College of Communications to offer an online AI course to Penn State alumni. The mini course, “Generative AI In Action: Practical Skills for Real-World Applications,” explores generative AI and learning opportunities to incorporate AI into real-world scenarios.

The three-session course, previously available only to Penn State Alumni Association members, can now be accessed by all alumni on the Penn State Alumni Association’s website.

The course is taught by Heather Shoenberger, a Bellisario associate professor of advertising. Shoenberger’s research includes work in the constantly evolving world of media and how to adapt content to fit the current landscape.

Each session offers hands-on lessons and demonstrations to get alumni acclimated and comfortable with available AI resources and tools. Alumni will finish the course with a solid understanding of generative AI and how they can apply it to their jobs.
