Kobe King Drafted No. 201 Overall By Minnesota Vikings

Former Penn State football linebacker Kobe King was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 201 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. King became the fifth Nittany Lion selected in this year’s draft.

The Detroit native appeared in 46 games for the Nittany Lions over four years, recording 200 total tackles.

King first appeared for Penn State in 2021, playing in four games during his true freshman season. In his redshirt freshman season, King made 41 tackles and four tackles for loss, and had his lone career touchdown after a fumble recovery. During his redshirt sophomore season, King earned All-Big Ten honorable mention laurels from the coaches and media, making 11 starts and totaling 59 tackles.

During his 2024 breakout campaign, King received second-team All-Big Ten honors from coaches and media and was named the coaching staff’s Defensive Player of the Week after the win against Minnesota on November 23. Starting in all 16 games, King made 97 tackles, along with 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
