Report: Nittany Lion Wrestling Club’s Aaron Brooks Fails USADA Test, Could Face Suspension

In what has been a whirlwind of a week in the news for the Penn State wrestling program, one of their most prestigious alumni and a key part of the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club could be facing a lengthy suspension following a failed drug test.

Four-time NCAA wrestling champion and Olympic bronze medalist Aaron Brooks, who has been out of freestyle action since the 2024 Paris Olympics, reportedly failed a drug test with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and could face a one-to-two-year suspension. The report originated with a tweet by Pat Mineo of The Wrestling Room on Friday night.

Later that night, Brooks tweeted out a statement that seems to hint at a future suspension, stating that “something that seems innocent at your local grocery store can cause consequences.”

Even if Brooks faces a two-year suspension, he would still be eligible to compete at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. His recent medical issues had held him out of the U.S. Open and Final X over the past few months.
