Penn State Hoops Announces Jersey Numbers For 2025-26 Season

Less than three months before Penn State men’s basketball returns to the Bryce Jordan Center, the team announced the jersey number assignments for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Kayden Mingo, the highest-ranked recruit in Penn State hoops history, will wear No. 4, which Freddie Dilione V wore last season. Dilione V will switch to No. 5, which Puff Johnson wore last season.

Incoming freshmen Mason Blackwood and Ivan Jurić took the numbers of graduating seniors, as Blackwood took No. 1 after the departure of Ace Baldwin Jr., and Jurić took Nick Kern Jr.’s No. 3.

Of the remaining freshmen, Melih Tunca will wear No. 9, Reggie Grodin will wear No. 12, Tibor Mirtic will wear No. 16, Justin Houser will wear No. 21, and Chris Lotito will wear No. 30.

No. 12 was last worn by Favour Aire in 2023-24, No. 21 was last worn by RayQuawndis Mitchell in 2023-24, and No. 30 was last worn by Abdou Tsimbila in 2020-21. A Penn State hoops’ player has not worn Tunca’s No. 9 and Mirtic’s No. 16 since at least 2000.

Holdovers Eli Rice and Dominick Stewart hold their numbers from last season. Transfers Josh Reed and Saša Ciani take No. 10 and No. 22, respectively. No. 10 was last worn by Joe Sedora last season, while No. 22 was last worn by Qudus Wahab in 2023-24.

Penn State hoops opens its 2024-25 season at the Bryce Jordan Center on Monday, November 3, against Fairfield at a time to be determined.
