Penn State Women’s Soccer Adds Dikte Bang To Roster

No. 11 Penn State women’s soccer adds midfielder Dikte Bang to the roster as summer training camp begins, the team announced on Monday.

Bang formally played for Odense Boldklub in the Kvindeliga, Denmark’s top-flight women’s soccer league. In 2024, she made 24 appearances, including 21 starts, recording five goals while helping the European side finish fifth in the league.

The Odense, Denmark, native has also been a rising star in the Danish Football Association’s Women’s Youth National Team system. Bang has appeared in 15 international friendlies at various age groups, while also participating in training camps with the U16, U17, U19, and U23 teams.

“Playing soccer at Penn State will allow me to compete at a high level while growing both as an athlete and as a person,” Bang said on gopsusports.com. “I am excited about the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches while being part of a competitive and motivated team. Being a part of the Penn State women’s soccer program is an honor, and I am ready to give my best, both on and off the field.”

The 19-year-old joins an already talented squad that will look to improve on its national quarterfinal loss to UNC a year ago. On Friday, the first United Soccer Coaches preseason poll was announced, and the Nittany Lions found themselves at No. 11.

Folks can Bang and Penn State for the first time against No. 4 Duke on Thursday, August 14, at 7 p.m. in Koskinen Stadium in North Carolina. Information on the televising of the game has not been released yet.
