Students Invited to Kick Off Fall Semester with Fun Alumni Association Events

From welcoming the class of 2029 to kicking off new traditions, the Alumni Association has
a packed first week!

As students return to Penn State’s University Park campus for the start of the fall 2025
semester, two events hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association will get them off to a
good start.

On Sunday, Aug. 24, members of the Class of 2029 are invited to “Be A Part From the Start”
from 8–9 p.m. at Rec Hall.

During the event, which is part welcome celebration, part pep rally, and 100% high-energy,
students will hear from familiar campus faces, learn the cheers they’ll proudly chant for
years to come, and experience firsthand what it means to be part of the “We Are” spirit of
Penn State. They’ll also discover how the Alumni Association’s student organizations, Lion
Ambassadors and Blue & White Society, can connect them with Penn State’s powerful
alumni network.

“Be A Part From The Start” will be livestreamed at alumni.psu.edu/BAPFTS.

On Wednesday, Aug. 27, all University Park students are invited to drop by the Hintz Family
Alumni Center for BASH, a back-to-school celebration hosted by the Blue & White Society,
the student membership of the Alumni Association. Students can welcome the new
semester with entertainment, giveaways, and more. Joining allows students to experience
the power of the Penn State network and offers exclusive networking events and leadership
opportunities.

This year at BASH, the Blue & White Society is kicking off a new tradition. On Fridays before
select home football games, members can get a limited-edition spirit shirt. The first shirt in
the series features the 2025 football schedule and will be available during BASH. Follow
@BWSPSU and @PennStateAlums on Instagram to find out where the giveaways will pop
up around campus each week.

The Alumni Association is proud to support these events to help students connect with
fellow Penn Staters and help first-year Nittany Lions learn about Penn State traditions and
opportunities for engagement with the alumni network.

Be A Part From the Start and BASH are proudly sponsored by the following partners:

  • UPAC
  • The Penn State Bookstore
  • Weis Markets

For more than 150 years, the Penn State Alumni Association has provided alumni with a
strong and welcoming community representative of the Penn Staters it proudly serves. The
association keeps alumni connected to the University and each other, while upholding
Penn State traditions and supporting the University’s mission of teaching, research, and
service. The association also produces the award-winning Penn Stater magazine and other
publications, and offers alumni and friends volunteer opportunities, educational
programming, and many other services. For more information about the Alumni
Association, visit alumni.psu.edu/youbelong.
