Penn State Museum Consortium Set to Host ‘Night at the Museums’ September 11

The Penn State Museum Consortium announced it will host its annual fall “Night at the Museums” event on Thursday, September 11.

As part of the event, members of the Consortium, which includes a majority of University Park’s museums, galleries, and performance areas, will extend their hours of closure from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Consortium states that the event allows students, staff, and members of the community to attend these various museums at special evening hours. The group hopes the event will allow visitors to experience a new evening perspective on the various scenes and exhibits these participating locations have to offer.

The event is also catered to those who are typically unable to attend these venues during their normal operating hours.

This year, specifically, the event will include a “silent disco” hosted by Penn State’s Centre for Performing Arts. The Eisenhower Auditorium will also host a journal-making activity.

Visitors will be able to attend the following sites and exhibitions as part of this year’s event: All-Sports Museum, Armsby Respiration Calorimeter Museum, Center for the Performing Arts, Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum and Art Gallery, Frost Entomological Museum, HUB Robeson Galleries, Matson Museum of Anthropology, Palmer Museum of Art, PAC Herbarium, and The Arboretum at Penn State.

Admission to all participating museums is free and open to the public.
