Cue The Jets: An Open Letter Pleading For A Beaver Stadium White Out Flyover

If you’ve ever felt the ground shake and the deafening roar of fighter jets above your head, you know the adrenaline rush is unmatched. First comes the distant hum towards the end of the national anthem, and then out of nowhere, the piercing noise overtakes everything around you.
The White Out has already been deemed one of the best atmospheres in college football, but a flyover would cement it as untouchable. Other programs roll out fighter jets for routine Saturdays (yes, I’m talking about you, SEC schools), so why shouldn’t Penn State have one for the biggest show in sports?
Of course, the first objection is obvious. Flyovers aren’t common for night games. But the truth is, it’s been done before.
Kyle Field pulled it off just a few weeks ago on August 30, 2025. Bryant-Denny Stadium had a night flyover on September 7, 2024. Even Death Valley saw a night flyover back on October 20, 2018. And if you really want to dig into the history of it, the 2007 Poinsettia Bowl featured a flyover after dusk, too.
So if Alabama, Texas A&M, and LSU can pull this off, there’s no excuse for Penn State to sit on the sidelines. The White Out isn’t just another night game — it’s THE most iconic scene in college football. It’s the one night every season where the entire sport turns its eyes to Beaver Stadium.
A flyover would take the atmosphere and launch it into oblivion. It would be the perfect way to honor the men and women who serve, while giving the fans a once-in-a-lifetime moment to remember forever. The players deserve it, the fans deserve it, and the White Out deserves it.
So, Penn State, here’s my ask this time: make it happen at whatever cost. This isn’t an impossible dream. All it takes is Penn State making the calls, working with the Air National Guard, and deciding the most electric environment in sports deserves the spectacle to match it.
