Your Guide To The White Out

Well, folks, it’s almost that time again.

This Saturday, September 27, Penn State takes on Oregon at 7:30 p.m. on NBC. Whether you’re a freshman or it’s just your first-ever White Out, here’s your guide to help you get through the big day.

Check The Weather

Rise and shine! Make sure to check the weather before you head out for the big game. Bring a jacket in case it rains. Night games can get cold, and comfort is key.

Have Your Ticket Ready

Make sure to have your ticket up and ready before heading over to the stadium. Wifi is hard to come by on gameday. You can add your ticket to your Apple Wallet the night before. Don’t be the freshman waiting for their ticket to load outside of Gate A.

Bring A Portable Charger

Imagine a packed Beaver Stadium roaring with excitement, and you don’t have your phone camera to capture it. Make sure to pack a portable. Whether it’s finding your friends in the student section or navigating your way to the exit, have a charged phone on hand.

Pace Yourself

Slow and steady wins the race. Don’t be the person who overdoes it at the tailgate and misses the game. It’s tempting to spend the day drinking, but trust me, you don’t want to end up back at your dorm before kickoff.

Get A Chicken Basket

Food is fuel, and there’s no better gameday meal than a Penn State chicken basket. Whether it’s during halftime or right before kickoff, make sure you’re energized and ready to take in the White Out atmosphere.

Show Your Penn State Pride

Be loud! You’re now a part of the best student section in the world, so prove it. Sing the alma mater, cheer on the Blue Band, and show your Penn State pride.

Wear White!

Finally, the most important part of White Out, wear white! We’re going duck hunting, dress the part.
