What To Do In Los Angeles For Penn State vs. UCLA

At least we get a sunny day in the City of Angels, right?

Penn State football will head to the Rose Bowl on Saturday to take on UCLA in its first road trip of the season. If you’re headed to college football’s most iconic venue to cheer on the Nittany Lions, here are some things you can do in Los Angeles ahead of Penn State’s week six matchup to pass the time.

Penn State Alumni Association Events

The Penn State Alumni Association Los Angeles chapter is hosting a Roar Tour mixer on Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. at Santa Monica Brew Works in Santa Monica. All ages are welcome. Folks can register for the event here.

The Los Angeles alumni chapter is also hosting a gameday tailgate on the Rose Bowl stadium grounds. Tickets are limited and cost $54, including fees. The chapter will provide breakfast food and drinks ahead of the early kickoff. It will share the specific tailgate location on Saturday morning. Tickets are available here.

Los Angeles Rams

In case you’re heading into town a little early, the Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers at SoFi Stadium to open up week five of the NFL season on Thursday Night Football. Who doesn’t love primetime football? Plus, SoFi Stadium is a true spectacle.

Los Angeles Chargers

If you’re extending your stay into Sunday, go for round two at SoFi Stadium. The Washington Commanders will be in town to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in one of the more enticing matchups of week five.

College Volleyball

No. 17 USC women’s volleyball faces Indiana at the Galen Center at 7 p.m. local time on Friday, October 3. The Trojans also play No. 13 Purdue at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday if you’re looking for some more college athletics to dive into after the Nittany Lions wrap up in Pasadena.

In case you want to check out the Bruins’ campus after the game, look no further. No. 24 UCLA women’s volleyball also takes on Indiana at the Pauley Pavilion at 7 p.m. local time on Saturday.

College Soccer

If volleyball isn’t your thing, UCLA men’s soccer battles No. 18 Maryland at Wallis Annenberg Stadium at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 3. Tickets are available here.

Bring Me The Horizon – Ascension Program Part 01 Tour

British metal band Bring Me The Horizon closes out the first leg of its “Ascension Program Part 01 Tour” at the new Intuit Dome in Inglewood on Friday, October 3. Folks can buy tickets here.

Polo & Pan – Americas Tour

French electronic duo Polo & Pan continue their “Americas Tour” with a Friday night show at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. Showtime is 8 p.m. local time, and tickets are available here.

Dua Lipa – Radical Optimism Tour

English pop superstar Dua Lipa continues her “Radical Optimism Tour” with two shows at the Kia Forum throughout the weekend on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5. Folks interested can find tickets for both dates here.

Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights

If you’re feeling like indulging in the spooky side of October, look no further than Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. Folks can experience eight haunted house mazes based on horror favorites like Terrifier, Poltergeist, and Friday the 13th. General admissions tickets range from $94 on Friday, $102 on Saturday, and $84 on Sunday.

Disneyland

If you want a more laid-back Halloween vibe while out west, book that Disneyland ticket ASAP. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure’s annual spooky makeover easily creates an experience to remember.
