With just under three minutes until halftime, Michigan capitalized on its fourth penalty corner of the day. Maxine Rogge received the feed and sent a shot that deflected off Aby Deverka’s foot into the goal to extend the Wolverines’ lead to 2-0.
Penn State responded by pressing higher and forcing turnovers, eventually earning a corner of its own. Morgan Snyders’ shot was blocked, but the Nittany Lions regained possession and earned another chance. Anouk Knuvers missed wide on the ensuing attempt with 1:48 left in the half.
The Nittany Lions continued to generate pressure before the break, passing around the circle to set up Knuvers for another hit that went wide before Kately Strawser’s shot was denied.

From there, the Wolverines maintained possession and ran out the final minutes to seal a 2-1 victory.
