Report: Mike Gesicki Placed On Injured Reserve For Pectoral Injury

Former Penn State football tight end and current Cincinnati Bengal, Mike Gesicki, was placed on injured reserve, Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday.

Gesicki injured his pectoral in the Bengals’ game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The timetable for the injury has not been released, but head coach Zac Taylor spoke about the severity at practice on Monday.

“It’s going to be a while,” Taylor told ESPN. “We’ll just see what that means.”

The Nittany Lion has struggled this season, along with the entire Cincinnati offense, with Joe Burrow sidelined with an injury. So far in 2025, Gesicki has eight receptions on 16 targets for 61 yards and no touchdowns.

Fellow tight end Noah Fant has also caused some of the struggles for Gesicki, as he leads the room with 16 receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown.

While at Penn State, Gesicki played in 51 games from 2014 to 2017, bringing in 129 receptions for 1481 yards and 15 touchdowns. In his final season, he was named second-team All-American tight end by SB Nation and Sporting News.
