Your 2025 Guide To Voting On Election Day

It’s that time of the year again, folks; Election Day 2025 is almost here!

On Tuesday, November 4, registered voters can head to the polls to fill various municipal and statewide positions in Pennsylvania.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming election before you head into the booth on Tuesday.

When To Vote

The polls will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and remain open until 8 p.m. If you’re hoping to avoid a long wait, head to your polling place during an off time; mornings and evenings tend to be the busiest. Remember, as long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you have the right to cast your vote!

Where To Vote

Wondering where you can vote? Students living on campus who have registered to vote in Centre County can vote at the HUB. Students living off campus can check out where their closest polling location is with this map or here.

If you are voting via a mail-in ballot, make sure the county election office receives it by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

What’s On The Ballot?

With multiple specific local positions being voted on, some positions will vary according to what voting district you live in. To see exactly who will appear on your ballot, check out this website.

The ballot for students in the HUB will consist of the following candidates.

Current State College Mayor Ezra Nanes (Democrat) is running for reelection unopposed.

The candidates for the three State College Borough Council seats include Nalini Krishnankutty (Democrat), Gopal Balachandran (Democrat), and John Hayes (Democrat).

The candidates for Judge of the Pennsylvania Superior Court include Brandon Neuman (Democrat), Maria Battista (Republican), and Daniel Wassmer (Liberal).

The candidates for Judge of the Commonwealth Court include Stella Tsai (Democrat) and Matt Wolford (Republican).

Bernie Cantorna (Democrat) is running unopposed for District Attorney.

Jury Commissioner candidates include Shelley L. Thompson (Democrat) and Hope P. Miller (Republican).

Steven F. Lachman is running unopposed for District Judge Magisterial District 49-3-05.

The candidates for School Director for State College School District include Deborah Anderson (Democratic/Republican), Jesse Barlow (Democratic/Republican), Jackie Huff (Democratic), Rebecca Arnold Desmarais (Democrat), Kristin Mcternan (Republican), and Mihaly Sogor (Republican).

There are also numerous Pennsylvania Supreme Court Retention Questions. These non-partisan questions include a yes or no answer to retaining Christine Donohue, Kevin M. Dougherty, and David Wecht as Justices of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The ballot also asks if Alice Beck Dubow should be retained for an additional term as Judge of the Superior Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Michael H Wojcik should be retained as Judge of the Commonwealth Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and if Katie Oliver should be retained for an additional term as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, 49th Judicial District, Centre County.

What Do I Need To Bring?

If you have voted here before, you do not need to bring anything to your local polling place.

If you are a first-time voter or if you have changed your address since the last time you voted, bring a valid form of ID. Any government-issued ID is acceptable, as well as a student ID or employee ID. Other non-photo IDs that are acceptable are current bills, bank statements, or paychecks with your listed address.
