Penn State Women’s Soccer’s Mackenzie Gress Named To Big Ten All-Tournament Team

Penn State’s women’s soccer goalkeeper Mackenzie Gress has been tabbed to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team for her performance in front of goal last week for the Nittany Lions.

Although the Nittany Lions were unable to secure a win in the Big Ten’s postseason play, Gress earned the selection following her performance against UCLA. Gress allowed just two goals while posting a season-high eight saves in the loss. UCLA was the third seed in the tournament and finished second in shots on goal throughout the season.

Gress’ regular season was impressive as well. She posted a 69.7% save rate with 52 saves on the season, leading the Nittany Lions to a 9-7-3 record with her in goal. It’s Gress’s first Big Ten All-Tournament team selection.

Penn State’s women’s soccer season may continue today with a selection to the NCAA Tournament at 4 p.m. This year’s tournament marks ten years since their last National Championship. Gress and the Nittany Lions will be looking to make some noise if they can make it to the dance.
