State College Holiday Parking Program Returns for 2025

With the end of the year upon us, the State College Borough Parking Department is spreading holiday cheer with plans to bring back its Holiday Parking Program. The program encourages locals to enjoy State College’s offerings during the holidays, including shopping, dining, and local entertainment, while also showing grace to those in violation of parking rules.

The program will run from November 24th to January 4th; however, details will adjust halfway through. From November 24th to December 21st, metered parking will be available for free after 5 p.m., and the parking garage offers a 120-minute grace period — extended from 30. Additionally, “Courtesy Cards” will be distributed in lieu of meter violations, with a maximum of three cards.

Beginning three days before Christmas, the parking department offers free transient parking at parking meters and garages. This part of the program will expire on January 4th and normal parking restrictions will apply the following day.
