Penn State Softball Releases 2026 Schedule

Penn State softball released its schedule for the 2026 season on Monday. The Nittany Lions will play a total of 53 regular-season games with 19 home contests at Beard Field.

The Nittany Lions will be kicking off their season with a heavy travel schedule in February. Highlighted by matchups in Florida, Texas, and Tennessee, the month is packed with doubleheaders and back-to-back games. There is a mix of mid-major and Power Five opponents that should test the blue and white to begin the season.

In March, the Nittany Lions return to State College for their first home games of the 2026 season. Penn State is set to host multiple non-conference opponents until it hits Big Ten play. The end of March brings a road trip to Oregon State with a couple more stops at Wisconsin, Rutgers, and Pittsburgh.

April will bring additional home games, with a visit from Maryland, Bucknell, and Saint Francis. Mid-April, the Nittany Lions will play Ohio State, and go into May playing one last home game against Nebraska.

May is highlighted by the Big Ten Tournament, NCAA Regionals, NCAA Super Regionals, and WCWS if Penn State advances to the aforementioned postseason tournaments.

In 2025, the Nittany Lions finished 25-27 overall and 10-12 in Big Ten play, earning them a spot in the Big Ten Tournament. Their season ended in the quarterfinals, but despite a sub-500 record, this past year was one of their strongest offensive seasons.
