Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 11 Roundup

Penn State football is back, folks! However, an exciting win over Michigan State doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about the Nittany Lions in the NFL. It was a relatively quiet week for former Penn State stars, but some still found ways to shine.

In case you missed it, here’s how Penn State alumni did in week 11 of the NFL season.

Nick Scott, Carolina Panthers

After a relatively quiet start to his NFL career, defensive back Nick Scott is finally making a name for himself this season. The 2019 seventh-round draft pick had eight tackles, including two solo tackles, to help the Panthers defeat the Atlanta Falcons 30-27.

Scott’s 58 total tackles this season are already the second-most of any season in his career, with six games left to play.

DaQuan Jones, Buffalo Bills

Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones recorded four total tackles and one sack as the Bills defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 44-32. Jones also forced a fumble on the way to the Bills’ victory.

Theo Johnson, New York Giants

Tight end Theo Johnson caught three passes for 36 yards in the Giants’ 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Johnson has played well throughout the season, despite the revolving door that is the Giants’ quarterback room. After three games with Russell Wilson and seven with Jaxson Dart, the second-year player caught passes from Jameis Winston on Sunday.

Micah Parsons, Green Bay Packers

Pass rusher Micah Parsons recorded six tackles, including a sack and a half, as the Packers defeated the Giants 27-20. After two straight games without a sack, this was a much-needed performance for the 2021 first-round draft pick.

Six tackles are the most that Parsons has had in a single game this season.

Kevin Winston Jr., Tennessee Titans

Kevin Winston Jr. made six tackles as the Titans fell to the Houston Texans 16-13. This is the best performance of the rookie defensive back’s short career. Winston only had four total tackles leading up to Sunday.

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley rushed 26 times for 83 yards as the Eagles beat the Detroit Lions 16-9 on Sunday Night Football. Barkley also caught one pass for seven yards.

After rushing for over 2,000 yards and winning AP Offensive Player of the Year in 2024, Barkley has had a relatively disappointing 2025 campaign so far. That being said, a down year for Barkley is still around league average.

Other Notable Performances:

  • Parker Washington caught two passes for 20 yards as the Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Los Angeles Chargers 35-6.
  • Odafe Oweh recorded four tackles in the Chargers’ loss to the Jaguars.
  • Jaquan Brisker made three total tackles in the Chicago Bears’ 19-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Pat Freiermuth caught one pass for 19 yards as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 34-12.
  • Joey Porter Jr. recorded three tackles, including a solo tackle, in the Steelers’ win over the Bengals.
  • Jordan Stout launched four punts for 176 yards as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Cleveland Browns 23-16.
  • Jahan Dotson hauled in two catches for 43 yards in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 16-9 win over the Detroit Lions.
