Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 12 Roundup

It’s a win streak for Penn State, folks! However, beyond the win against Nebraska, the Nittany Lions in the NFL still deserve attention. While it was a quiet week for Penn Staters, some stars still showed out.
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of how former Penn State players performed in week 12 of the NFL season.
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
Tight end Pat Freiermuth caught three passes for 19 yards during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 28-31 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Freiermuth brought one of his completions in for a touchdown to bring the Steelers to within three points, but ultimately, it was not the deciding score.
Micah Parsons, Green Bay Packers
Star Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons added to his sack total for this season against the Minnesota Vikings. Parsons totaled two tackles and two sacks.
After the 23-6 win, Parsons officially reached five straight seasons with 10 or more sacks.
Ji’Ayir Brown, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers safety Ji’Ayir Brown had a career game on Monday, totaling two interceptions against Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young. Brown’s first interception came in the first quarter, and the second came late in the fourth quarter.
In addition to the interceptions, Brown had five tackles.
Jaquan Brisker, Chicago Bears
Safety Jaquan Brisker totaled seven tackles in the Bears’ win against the Steelers. Brisker also had a fourth-down stop to seal the Bears’ win.
Jaylen Reed, Houston Texans
Despite the Houston Texans’ game against the Buffalo Bills being safety Jaylen Reed’s sixth game of the season, it marked his first tackles of 2025.
Reed totaled 12 tackles in Thursday night’s 23-19 win, including nine solo tackles.
Mitchell Tinsley, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley caught two passes for 14.5 yards in the team’s 26-20 loss to the New England Patriots. One of his two catches was the lone offensive touchdown for the Bengals.
This marks only the third game this season in which Tinsley totaled over 10 yards.
Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington caught five passes for 71 yards, including a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Washington also had an impressive 42-yard punt return in the Jaguars’ 27-24 overtime win against the Arizona Cardinals.
Kevin Winston Jr, Tennessee Titans
After making six tackles in last week’s game, Kevin Winston Jr recorded a new season record this week. In the Tennessee Titans’ 30-24 loss against the Seattle Seahawks, the rookie made 10 tackles, marking the best performance of his career so far.
Other Notable Performances
- Abdul Carter recorded four tackles in the New York Giants’ 34-27 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions.
- Mike Gesicki had four receptions for 35 yards in the Bengals’ 26-20 loss to the Patriots.
- Theo Johnson caught three receptions for 77 yards for the Giants.
- Saquon Barkley continued his struggling season, with only 10 rushing attempts for 22 yards.
- Brenton Strange caught five passes for 93 yards in the Jaguars’ win.
- Nick Scott totaled seven tackles in the Panthers’ loss to the 49ers.
