Penn State Men’s Volleyball Head Coach Mark Pavlik To Retire Following 2026 Season

Penn State men’s volleyball head coach Mark Pavlik will retire following the 2026 season, the team announced Thursday.

Pavlik’s final season will be his 32nd at the helm of the Nittany Lions. He’s compiled a 694-241 record through his career and his total wins are fourth all-time nationally.

After winning the 2008 national championship, Pavlik was named the AVCA National Coach of the Year and has also been named the EIVA Coach of the Year 10 times. He’s led Penn State to a 337-28 conference record over his 31 years, winning 25 conference tournament titles and 27 regular season titles.

The 2008 season was one of four in which Pavlik took Penn State to the national championship match.

The 1982 Penn State graduate and former setter spent five years as a Penn State assistant coach before being promoted in 1995.

Penn State will begin Pavlik’s final season at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 8 at Rec Hall against Mount Olive.
