Penn State Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule

Fresh off a strong season that saw the program make a second consecutive trip to the Big Ten Tournament semifinal and get a program-record five players drafted in the 2025 MLB Draft, Mike Gambino and Penn State baseball look to continue building momentum, announcing their full 2026 schedule on Wednesday.
The regular season will once again begin in a warm-weather state, as the Nittany Lions will head to the MLB Desert Invitational in Scottsdale, Arizona, for a three-day weekend event, facing Air Force, Grand Canyon, and 2025 NCAA Tournament participant Kansas State from February 13-15.
From there, they’ll spend the following weekend on the road at Richmond before playing the first college baseball games ever in the Bahamas from February 27 to March 1 against Indiana State. Just two days after that series finale, the Nittany Lions will host St. John’s in their home opener at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on March 3.
After two games with the Red Storm, they’ll visit Lubbock for a three-game set with Texas Tech from March 6-8 and visit the nation’s capital for a two-game midweek set with Georgetown. After that, they’ll host Iowa in the team’s Big Ten opener on March 13.
After a meeting with West Virginia in Morgantown on March 17, they’ll travel to Purdue for their first road series in Big Ten play. They host St. Bonaventure on March 24 to begin a five-game homestand that includes hosting Illinois to end March and UCF on April Fool’s Day. The Nittany Lions will then spend Easter weekend visiting the reigning Big Ten champions in Lincoln, looking to get revenge for the last two Big Ten Tournament defeats.
Over the next several weeks, Penn State will host Fairleigh Dickinson (April 7), Bucknell (April 21), and West Virginia (April 29) for midweek games while traveling to Columbus and Eugene to face Ohio State and Oregon on the road. They’ll also play a third game against West Virginia on April 15 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
The Nittany Lions will host Minnesota and Washington on the first two weekends of May, finishing up their home slate on May 10. After a one-day stop in Pittsburgh to battle their in-state rival two days later, they’ll conclude their regular season with a Thursday-Saturday series with Maryland, concluding on May 16.
If the team qualifies, they’ll head to the Big Ten Tournament on May 18, hoping to avenge their prior defeats and take home their first Big Ten title in 30 years on May 24. The NCAA Regionals will begin on May 29, Super Regionals on June 5, and College World Series on June 12, if the Nittany Lions manage to have a magical season.
