Former Iowa State Linebacker Cael Brezina Transfers To Penn State Football

Three-star linebacker Cael Brezina has committed to Penn State football out of the transfer portal, he announced Sunday.
Coming out of Downer Grove North High School in Illinois, Brezina was rated as a three-star linebacker. He was ranked as the No. 30 recruit in Illinois and the No. 107 linebacker nationally by the 247Sports’ composite rankings, and chose Iowa State over Indiana and Air Force.
Brezina joins the Nittany Lions after spending two seasons at Iowa State. He appeared in eight games during the 2024 season, making seven starts and recording 22 tackles, including three tackles for losses. He also recovered a fumble during Iowa State’s 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl victory over No. 15 Miami.
In 2025, Brezina played in 12 games, totaling 29 tackles while recording a season-high eight tackles against TCU, and finished the year with one forced fumble.
Brezina is the 11th Iowa State transfer to make his way to Happy Valley as Penn State continues to add pieces through the transfer portal.
