Report: Penn State Football Defensive Tackle Kaleb Artis Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football defensive tackle Kaleb Artis has entered the transfer portal, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Artis has one year of eligibility remaining.
Artis appeared in 24 games across 2023 and 2024, but didn’t see any game action this season. A long-term injury was never disclosed. James Franklin said last season that he expected Artis to rise up as a young leader with Xavier Gilliam, who played a big role on Penn State’s defensive front in 2025.
Artis totaled seven tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in his Penn State stint. He was named the coaching staff’s Developmental Squad Defensive Player of the Week five times.
The Fresh Meadows, New York, native committed to the Nittany Lions as a three-star recruit out of St. Francis Preparatory School in July 2021. He was tabbed the No. 2 player in New York and No. 63 defensive lineman in the nation at the time of his commitment, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He was the 17th member of Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class.
