Report: Former Penn State Football Defensive Tackle Owen Wafle Transfers To Duke

Former Penn State football defensive tackle Owen Wafle has committed to transfer to Duke, per On3’s Steve Wiltfong. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Wafle appeared in nine games in 2025 and saw an increased defensive role in the Pinstripe Bowl against Clemson, where he tallied one tackle. He finished the season with four total tackles.

The Princeton, New Jersey, native was ranked as the No. 9 player in the state, No. 50 defensive lineman in the class of 2024, and No. 447 player in the nation as a recruit, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He originally committed to Michigan. He transferred to Happy Valley ahead of the 2025 season after one year.

Wafle now ends up with the Blue Devils, marking his third program in as many years.
