Former Penn State Football Defensive End Cortez Harris Transfers To Virginia Tech

Former Penn State football defensive end Cortez Harris is transferring to Virginia Tech, he announced on social media on Sunday. He has four years of eligibility remaining.
Harris was a four-star recruit out of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, in the Class of 2025, ranked as the No. 38 edge rusher and No. 13 player from Maryland, according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Penn State in June 2024, choosing the Nittany Lions over Tennessee and Maryland.
He appeared in two games as a true freshman, preserving his redshirt. He played 18 total snaps, 13 against Villanova and five against Nebraska. He did not register a stat in his two appearances and entered the transfer portal on January 6.
He is the latest player initially recruited by James Franklin to rejoin him in Blacksburg. Six players have officially committed to Virginia Tech so far, including Daniel Jennings, Keon Wylie, Matt Henderson, Keon Wylie, and Jeff Exinor Jr.
