Former Iowa State Linebacker John Klosterman Signs With Penn State Football

Former Iowa State linebacker John Klosterman is transferring to Penn State, the school announced on Friday. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Klosterman was an unranked prospect out of Iowa City High School in the Class of 2022, deciding to walk on at Iowa State under Matt Campbell. After redshirting as a true freshman, Klosterman has been a staple on special teams for the Cyclones over the last three seasons, while also getting reps as a backup linebacker.

In 24 games at Iowa State, Klosterman had 18 tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery. He was one of four Iowa State linebackers to be formally announced as signees on Friday by the football team’s social media.
