Former Penn State Football Tight End Tyler Warren Selected For The Pro Bowl

Former Penn State tight end Tyler Warren was named a Pro Bowl alternate on Friday. He is the third Nittany Lion to earn the distinction this season, joining Baltimore Ravens’ punter Jordan Stout and Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons.

Warren was not initially named to the Pro Bowl roster on December 23, like Stout and Parsons, but was named as the AFC’s first alternate and was called upon to replace Las Vegas Raiders’ tight end Brock Bowers, who was placed on injured reserve in December and will not compete.

Warren became the highest-drafted tight end in program history in 2025 after a tremendous 2024 season that saw him win the John Mackey Award as the top tight end in America, be named an All-American, and receive downballot Heisman votes.

In 56 career games at Penn State, Warren had 153 receptions for 2,063 scrimmage yards and 25 total touchdowns, while also adding 35 passing yards and a passing touchdown as a senior. After going No. 14 overall to the Indianapolis Colts, he led the Colts in targets as a rookie, making 76 receptions for 817 yards and five total touchdowns, setting numerous franchise records.

While Penn State has tremendous representation at the position in the NFL, Warren is the first Penn State tight end to be named to the Pro Bowl since Mickey Shuler for the New York Jets in 1988. He’s the first Penn State rookie to be named to the Pro Bowl since Parsons in 2021.
