No. 4 Penn State Women’s Hockey Clinches Fourth Consecutive AHA Regular-Season Title With 7-0 Win Over Delaware

No. 4 Penn State women’s hockey (24-4, 17-1 AHA) took down Delaware (2-26, 1-19 AHA) 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at Pegula Ice Arena, securing the team’s fourth consecutive AHA regular-season title.
Tessa Janecke and Nicole Hall each scored in their final home games of the season before heading to Milan to represent Team USA and Team Sweden in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
How It Happened
Janecke won the faceoff for the Nittany Lions to start the game. After entering the offensive zone with the puck, Janecke ripped a shot from the slot, beating Mattie Robitzer 16 seconds into the game to give Penn State the early lead.
Off an offensive zone faceoff win, Danica Maynard let go of a shot that went wide of the net. The puck deflected off the boards behind the cage, right to Taylor Lum. Lum gathered the puck and put it into the wide-open net to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead 3:42 into the game.
Halfway through the period, Abby Stonehous was set up beautifully by Katelyn Roberts, but her net-front chance was robbed by the leather of Robitzer.
Mya Vaslet was sent to the penalty box for charging with 6:38 to go in the first period, but 19 seconds later, the teams would skate four-on-four after Francesca Barresi was given a two-minute minor for tripping. The Nittany Lions would then go on the man-advantage after Delaware was called for too many men on the ice, just 1:17 after the last penalty.
With seven seconds remaining on the four-on-three man-advantage, Janecke put a heater on net from just above the right faceoff circle. She beat Robitzer for the second time in the period, extending the Nittany Lion lead to 3-0 with 4:44 to go in the first period.
Less than two minutes later, Roberts fed the wide-open Stonehouse from near the blue. She got Robitzer to bite while crossing in front of the net, and slid the puck past the sprawled-out Robitzer, making it 4-0 Penn State.
Grace Outwater was sent to the penalty box with 1:56 to go in the opening period after high-sticking a Blue Hens player. Bailey Grey had a high-danger chance in front of the net on the man-advantage, but Katie DeSa turned it away, sending the Nittany Lions into the first intermission up 4-0.
Fifty-eight seconds into the second period, Maddy Christain fed Taya MacDonald in the offensive zone. She sent the puck down to Mikah Keller in the corner, who sent a feed to Outwater in front of the net. Outwater tapped the feed home to make it 5-0.
Hall would add to the Penn State lead three minutes later after she was fed near the right faceoff dot. Hall circled just below the Big Ten logo and fired a wrister past Robitzer.
The Nittany Lions’ lead would grow to seven with five minutes left in regulation, as Kendall Butze let go of a wrister from the point that Robitzer lost in traffic.
Takeaway

- Penn State outshot Delaware 44-11, controlling most of the game from its offensive zone.
- The Nittany Lions committed five penalties against the Blue Hens, but killed off every single one and even came close to scoring a short-handed goal in the third period.
