Report: Former Penn State Football Running Back Nick Singleton Suffers Broken Foot

Former Penn State football running back Nick Singleton suffered a broken foot during Senior Bowl practice on Thursday, according to his father. He will undergo surgery on his right foot in Birmingham, Alabama. Reading Eagle’s Rich Scarcella first reported on the injury.
Singleton was a force in the backfield for the Nittany Lions over the course of his Penn State career. He had two seasons in which he eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark, and in 2025, set a season career high in touchdowns with 13. He notably raised the bar for Penn State’s all-time career touchdown record, surpassing Saquon Barkley with 55 trips to the end zone.
In December, Singleton announced that he would be declaring for the NFL draft. He is widely projected to be selected on the second day, with some experts even predicting round-one upside.
Singleton will not be able to participate in the NFL combine beginning on February 23 in Indianapolis, but will still be in attendance. This surgery marks his second in the past year, coming off thumb surgery last January due to a torn ligament.
