Penn State Student Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run Saturday Morning

A pedestrian was struck at the intersection of East Beaver Avenue and South Garner Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to State College Police.

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old Penn State student, was taken to Geisinger Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.

The driver, a 33-year-old male, fled the scene following the crash, but police later located his vehicle and arrested him. The man has not been identified.

State College Police said charges are pending in a media release Saturday morning, and that the crash remains under investigation. A criminal complaint has yet to be filed.
