‘Hadestown’ Set To Perform At Eisenhower Auditorium

A Tony and Grammy award-winning Broadway musical is returning to Happy Valley. “Hadestown” is set to perform at Penn State at 7:30 p.m. on both Monday, March 2, and Tuesday, March 3, in Eisenhower Auditorium.
The winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards, including Best New Musical, and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, is about the two intertwining love stories, young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone, as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.
The show originated as Anaïs Mitchell’s indie theater project that toured Vermont, which she then turned into an acclaimed album. With Rachel Chavkin, her director and artistic collaborator, “Hadestown” has transformed into a musical that blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to retell the ancient tale.
Tickets start at $74 for an adult, $48 for University Park students, and $57 for a person 18 and younger. You can purchase tickets here. To avoid the $4 fee, you can purchase tickets over the phone at 814-863-0255 or in person, weekdays 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Eisenhower Auditorium.
