Penn State Softball’s Kristen Finarelli Named To NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament Team

Penn State softball infielder Kristen Finarelli was named to the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team on Monday for her performance in the Nittany Lions’ first series of the season.

The freshman from Lehman, Pennsylvania, started all five games at first base, and had a team-best .368 average with seven hits.

Finarelli’s first collegiate home run gave Penn State the edge over Boston College in their second game of the tournament, and her walk-off single against BYU improved the team to 4-0 on the weekend. Finarelli had four RBIs in the tournament.

Penn State will head to Texas this weekend for the Houston Invitational, with the first game at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 13.
