Former Penn State Women’s Volleyball’s Karis Willow Transfers To Rutgers

Former Penn State women’s volleyball outside hitter Karis Willow will transfer to Rutgers in her final year of eligibility, she announced on Instagram on Wednesday.

The move follows Willow’s announcement at the end of last season that she would be entering the transfer portal. She spent three seasons with Penn State, where she won a national championship in 2024, before entering the transfer portal.

In her three seasons with the Nittany Lions, she struggled to earn playing time, making only 14 appearances during her Penn State career. 11 of those 14 appearances came last season, and she recorded a total of six kills.

After graduating from Penn State in May, Willow will join a Rutgers team that finished 12-20 last season and has not finished with a winning record since 2012. She will look to gain more consistent time on the court.
