Nine Penn State Football Players Invited To 2026 NFL Scouting Combine

Nine Penn State football players were invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, the league announced Wednesday.

The nine Nittany Lions that will have a chance to make an impression on NFL organizations are quarterback Drew Allar, running backs Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton, tight end Khalil Dinkins, offensive linemen Vega Ioane and Drew Shelton, defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton, defensive tackle Zane Durant, and safety Zakee Wheatley.

Allar started 35 games over three seasons for the Nittany Lions from 2023-25 as one of the highest-ranked recruits in program history after backing up Sean Clifford as a true freshman. In 45 career games, he completed 63.2% of his passes, threw for 7,402 yards, 61 passing touchdowns, and had 13 interceptions. He added 732 career rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. His Penn State career ended on a sour note with a broken ankle against Northwestern in mid-October, but he is expected to be healthy for the combine.

Allen is Penn State’s all-time leading rusher, accumulating a monstrous 4,180 career rushing yards with 39 touchdowns, while also adding 70 catches for 490 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He was named an AP Third-Team All-American for his performance in 2025 and was named to the All-Big Ten First Team.

Singleton is Penn State’s all-time leader in scrimmage yards and both rushing and total touchdowns. He racked up 3,461 rushing yards and 45 rushing touchdowns on 5.6 yards per carry in his career, while additionally catching 102 passes for 987 yards and nine receiving touchdowns through the air. He was a multi-time All-Big Ten honoree and was Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2022.

Dinkins started 15 games at tight end and was often the team’s best blocker at the position over his last few seasons at Penn State. In 48 career games, he had 37 receptions for 399 yards and seven receiving touchdowns.

Ioane started 32 games at guard in his career at Penn State and gained notoriety as one of the nation’s best interior linemen in 2024 and 2025, earning him All-American nods in the latter season. He is a projected first-round pick as one of the top interior linemen off the board.

Shelton started 30 games across all four seasons as a Nittany Lion, contributing as a true freshman back in 2022 before eventually becoming a full-time starter in 2024. The Downingtown, Pennsylvania, native played several different positions as a Nittany Lion and was a consensus Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2025.

Dennis-Sutton came to Penn State as a five-star recruit and lived up to his billing, becoming one of the best edge rushers in program history. The All-Big Ten honoree had 127 tackles, 34.5 tackles-for-loss, and 23.5 sacks. He forced seven fumbles across four seasons and added a pair of interceptions and three blocked punts.

Durant was a stalwart on the interior defensive line, appearing in 54 games across four seasons and starting 39 of them. He tallied 89 tackles, 22 tackles-for-loss, 10 sacks, three passes defended, and an interception in his Nittany Lion career.

Wheatley emerged as one of the best safeties in college football in 2024 after taking over for an injured Kevin Winston Jr. and was an All-Big Ten honoree in 2025. In 58 career games, he made 223 tackles with six interceptions, six passes defended, five tackles-for-loss, and three fumble recoveries.

319 total prospects were invited to the annual event, which takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 23 to March 2. A lot of that week will consist of team interviews with individual prospects, but the public will get a look at the televised individual workouts that take place from February 26 to March 1 on NFL Network.
