[Photo Story] Penn State Women’s Gymnastics Takes On Minnesota

Penn State women’s gymnastics hosted the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Valentine’s Day while honoring its seniors on senior day. It was a close, well-fought matchup, but in the end the Nittany Lions fell short 196.000-197.075.

After a strong start to their season with four wins in a row, the Nittany Lions dropped their third loss this season, bringing their record to 4-3. Penn State will go to Iowa City to face the Hawkeyes next Saturday, and its next home meet at Rec Hall will be the Big Ten 4 meet on February 28 against Michigan, Nebraska, and Washington.

Penn State started the day on vault with great performances from freshman Ava Cash and Jessica Johanson, while the Nittany Lions got a score of 48.950

Next, the Nittany Lions hopped onto the bars and got a striking score of 49.375.

For their third rotation, the Nittany Lions were on the beam and earned a team score of 48.675 with standout performances from Dani Latronica and Alyssa Kramer.

To finish the day, the girls were on the floor and gave a spectacular performance, earning a team score of 49.000.
