Brainstorming Foods That Should Be Sold At THON

While there are a few quality food options at the Bryce Jordan Center, like Chickie’s and Pete’s, people deserve to have a better selection of food options for future editions of THON than the type of hamburgers and hot dogs that some of our staffers had earlier in the weekend

Chick-fil-A Spicy Deluxe Sandwich

There aren’t many good chicken options at the Bryce Jordan Center other than the famous chicken basket. While it is very popular in sporting events like football games, it is very expensive. There has to be a better chicken option at a lower price, and the perfect candidate is the Chick-fil-A spicy deluxe sandwich.

It’s one of the most popular food selections at Chick-fil-A, and you can do the meal, which includes waffle fries and a drink. All included, it costs about 17 bucks. It would be a great addition for people at THON on Friday and Saturday.

Shake Shack’s ShackBurger

The hamburgers at the Bryce Jordan Center are about as bad as they come. There has to be a better option for hamburgers at the Bryce Jordan Center, and while Five Guys would be the obvious option due to its location in downtown State College, I think it would be great if Penn Staters get a taste of a new burger chain like Shake Shack.

For those who don’t know much about Shake Shack, it is a fast-food chain competitor to Five Guys that sells burgers, fries, milkshakes, and hot dogs. It has a great selection of burgers, and the most popular option there is the ShackBurger.

It is known for its juicy beefy patty and signature ShackSauce. One ShackBurger costs almost five dollars, and a double ShackBurger costs almost eight dollars. For the quality that Shake Shack offers, it is a no-brainer that Shake Shack’s ShackBurger would be a popular food option.

Wawa Hoagie

As someone who lives outside of Philly, a Wawa hoagie would do wonders for me if I were trying to survive THON.

The hoagie is one of the most popular food options in Wawa, and its price typically ranges from $5 to $10. It has many options, from Italian to meatball hoagies, great size, and Wawa makes them at a very fast pace.

Doggies Pizza

Doggies Pizza would be an instant hit at the Bryce Jordan Center, considering that there aren’t many places at the Bryce Jordan Center that sell pizza.

At Doggies, a slice of cheese pizza costs $2 while a slice of pepperoni pizza costs $3, a fantastic deal. The pizza sold at the Bryce Jordan Center costs more than $10, and the size of a slice is not that big for the quality of it.

Doggies Pizza is so popular here in State College, and since it’s a very recognizable brand, people at the Bryce Jordan Center would be instantly attracted to it. Pizza is one of the most popular foods in the country, and having a popular State College destination like Doggies, where you can get as many slices as you can, would be a huge hit at the Bryce Jordan Center, especially during THON.
