THON 2026 Marks The 50th Anniversary Of The Line Dance

Over the years, the Line Dance has become as iconic to THON as anything else, and this year is its 50th birthday!

Debuting in 1976, only three years after the first-ever THON, the Line Dance may not have been there from the start, but it outdates almost all of THON’s other trademarks, including Four Diamonds, the 46-hour length, holding it in the BJC, and even the name THON itself!

So, as THON 2026 comes to a close, wish the Line Dance a happy semicentennial.
