Penn State Men’s Volleyball’s Owen Rose Named EIVA Defensive Player Of The Week

Penn State men’s volleyball’s Owen Rose has been named the Defensive Player of the Week by the EIVA this past Monday. This is the first time Rose has received this title in his senior season, but his fifth time overall in his collegiate career.
Rose played some major roles in Penn State’s recent matches with this ability to block opponents and control the net defensively. The middle blocker received the EIVA title after taking home two wins against Harvard this past weekend, ending in both a 3-0 and 3-1 win. Rose also holds the school record of 14 blocks after their sweep this past Friday against Harvard. He averaged an impressive 2.57 blocks per set over the two matches and led the Nittany Lions to their win.
Rose and the Nittany Lions will take on Merrimack this Friday in Rec Hall at 7 p.m.
