Penn State Baseball Adds March 25 Matchup With Bucknell

After losing a game on its home schedule with Tuesday’s game against St. John’s being cancelled due to rain, Penn State baseball is adding a home game against in-state foe Bucknell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, the team announced on Wednesday.

Bucknell was already on the team’s schedule, scheduled to visit State College on Tuesday, April 21, but the two teams will now clash twice this season after finding an open date in March. The Bison are off to a 3-7 start to the season and play out of the Patriot League.

The Nittany Lions run-ruled the Bison in their lone meeting last season, winning 14-3 in seven innings. The two have previously faced off a staggering 165 times, with Penn State leading the all-time series, 132-32-1, dating back to 1882.

The added game will create one of the busier weeks of the season for the Nittany Lions, who will visit Purdue from March 20-22 before playing a pair of mid-week home games against St. Bonaventure and Bucknell and then hosting Illinois from March 27-29. For those keeping track at home, that’s eight games in 10 days.
