Former Penn State Football Team Captain Rasheed Walker Signs One-Year Deal With Panthers

Former Penn State football offensive lineman Rasheed Walker reached an agreement with the Carolina Panthers for a one-year contract worth a maximum of $10 million. The left tackle is ranked No. 19 overall and was the top remaining player on Gregg Rosenthal’s free agent list available at the time of the deal

Walker was a seventh-round pick in the 2022 draft and just completed his rookie contract with the Packers. He became a starter for the Green Bay Packers in week two of the 2023 season and never looked back. Walker has started at least 15 games in each of the last three seasons. In 2025, he was on the field for 94% of Green Bay’s offensive snaps and appeared in 18% of special teams snaps.

During four years in Happy Valley, he became a very reliable and productive leader on the team. After only playing a few snaps his freshman year in 2018, Walker was given the starting job at left tackle. On 674 offensive snaps, he surrendered 5 sacks and 18 total pressures.

During the COVID-19-shortened season, the big man started all nine games and played 726 snaps. Walker gave up just two sacks and 14 total pressures during the shortened year. His stellar performances landed his name on the third-team All-Big Ten by the media. That same year, he was also given an honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches. His 2021 as a redshirt junior saw 10 starts, giving away only four sacks through 729 snaps. The former prized NFL free agent will now provide his services to a young, promising Carolina team.
