Penn State Women’s Hockey’s Jeff Kampersal Named 2026 CCM/AHCA Women’s University Division Coach Of The Year

Penn State women’s hockey head coach Jeff Kampersal has been named the CCM/AHCA Women’s University Division Coach of the Year, the AHCA announced Thursday.

Kampersal’s first national coach of the year honor comes after a historic season for the Nittany Lions, who won their fourth consecutive AHA conference title and a Frozen Four berth for the first time in program history.

In his ninth year with the team, Kampersal has led Penn State to 33 wins, a new single-season high. The team also set an AHA record with seven postseason awards this season. Kampersal became the fifth-ever coach to reach 500 career wins, which he achieved on January 23 against Delaware.

Kampersal and his team will be back in action for the Frozen Four, where the Nittany Lions will host No. 2 Wisconsin on Friday, March 20. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
