Where Do Nittany Lions Land In Latest 2026 NFL Mock Drafts?

There are 34 days until the 2026 NFL Draft.
Penn State football just wrapped up its Pro Day, and a variety of players are making their final scheduled visits and private workouts leading up to the big day. But where are Penn Staters landing in current mock drafts with just over a month until the first round in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?
Here’s a quick rundown.
Daniel Jeremiah (NFL Media)
It’s no secret that Vega Ioane is Penn State’s sole true first-round talent in 2026 as opposed to Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren a season ago. Jeremiah mocks Ioane to the West Coast to become a member of the Los Angeles Chargers at pick No. 22. Ioane playing for Jim Harbaugh in college would have been a shame, but in the NFL? Let them cook.
Ioane would be the Chargers’ fourth first-round offensive line pick in the last six years, joining Rashawn Slater, Zion Johnson, and Joe Alt. Los Angeles is desperate to improve protection for quarterback Justin Herbert after another Wild Card whimper to end the season.
“The Chargers thank their lucky stars that their need on the interior matches up with the best player still available. Ioane would be their most talented guard,” Jeremiah wrote.
Josh Edwards (CBS Sports)
Edwards predicts the Baltimore Ravens to pick up Ioane with the No. 14 overall pick, eight slots higher than Jeremiah. If Ioane were to go at No. 14, he would become Penn State’s highest offensive guard drafted since Mike Munchak went No. 8 overall to the Houston Oilers in 1982.
“The Ravens could move forward with recently signed John Simpson at right guard and returnee Andrew Voorhees at left guard, but Vega Ioane is a Raven if I’ve ever seen one. He brings stability for a head coach who wants to instill a physical brand of football,” Edwards wrote.
Edwards also has two Nittany Lions going back-to-back in the second round. He predicts Dani Dennis-Sutton to the Chargers at No. 55 and Zakee Wheatley to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 56. That would wrap up quite the two opening rounds for Penn State.
Nate Tice (Yahoo Sports)
Over at Yahoo Sports, Tice has Ioane turn into a direct result of the Sauce Gardner trade for the New York Jets. He predicts Aaron Glenn will steer towards Ioane as the Jets choose to start rebuilding from the trenches and outwards (again).
“Ioane has good size and is comfortable in space. He showed off good awareness as a player this past season, which is encouraging for him to hit the field early in the pros,” Tice wrote.
Mel Kiper (ESPN)
It’s Kiper’s time of year. We’re all just living in it.
The resident NFL Draft expert predicts the Pittsburgh Steelers to make a safe choice with Ioane in the midst of a ton of uncertainty at the quarterback position and with the team entering its first season without Mike Tomlin at the helm since 2006. Can Ioane propel the Steelers to their first playoff win since 2017? Only time can tell.
“Ioane is the top pure guard in the class, with the power to physically move pass rushers out of the way and the light feet to erase second-level defenders. He didn’t give up any sacks last season,” Kiper wrote.
Gordon McGuiness (Pro Football Focus)
In addition to Kiper, McGuiness of PFF has the Steelers picking Ioane with the No. 21 overall pick. Now let’s get into the good stuff.
Dennis-Sutton is a Chicago Bear at No. 57 overall in the second round. McGuiness predicts that Drew Allar will hear his name called as the first pick of the third round to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 65 overall. With the Cardinals’ apparent plan to start Jacoby Brissett in the aftermath of Kyler Murray’s release, Allar would bring some much-needed fresh blood and optimism to the desert. Too bad he’d be in the division of hell.
Lastly, McGuiness thinks Wheatley joins Ioane in Pittsburgh with the No. 76 overall pick from the Dallas Cowboys. As a certain former head coach used to say, “The best in PA, stay in PA.”
