Penn State Men’s Hockey Goaltender Kevin Reidler Signs Two-Year Contract With The Ottawa Senators

Happy Valley to the NHL.
The Ottawa Senators are signing Penn State men’s hockey goaltender Kevin Reidler to a two-year contract, the team announced on Monday.
Reidler will sign his entry-level contract and go pro after spending just one season in Hockey Valley. During his time as a Nittany Lion, he split starts with Josh Fleming, who earned the starting role over Reidler in postseason play.
In 18 games played this season, Reidler recorded an 11-7-0 record, with a .901 save percentage. His goals against average came out to 3.31. Reidler’s final start in a Penn State uniform resulted in a 5-2 loss to Wisconsin, when he was pulled for Fleming in the middle of the game.
Reidler will head to the Belleville Senators, Ottawa’s American Hockey League affiliate, to begin his professional career. He is on an Amateur Tryout Agreement for the remainder of the season, with his entry-level contract scheduled to begin ahead of the 2026-27 season.
This marks the second consecutive year that a Nittany Lion netminder will sign an NHL contract, with Arsenii Sergeev inking a deal with the Calgary Flames a year prior.
Reidler was drafted 151st overall by the Senators in the 2022 NHL Draft.
