Penn State Football Wide Reciever Trebor Peña Projected To Be Late Round Draft Pick

After one season in Happy Valley, Penn State football wide receiver Trebor Peña has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Peña was a three-star recruit coming out of Ocean Township High School, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He was ranked as the 102nd-best athlete in the 2020 class and the No. 31-ranked player in New Jersey. He committed to Syracuse over Temple, Air Force, Army, and Delaware.

Peña played four seasons with the Orange, where he recorded 109 receptions for 1,212 yards and 10 touchdowns. He transferred to Penn State ahead of the 2025 season in his fifth year of playing college football. In his last collegiate season, Peña played in all 12 games for the Nittany Lions and further played in the Pinstripe Bowl. He recorded 49 receptions, 552 yards, and two touchdowns during his time at Penn State.

While Peña was not invited to the combine, he participated in Penn State’s 2026 Pro Day. The wide receiver produced a 4.52 40-yard dash run, a 35.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10’3″ broad jump.

Peña has a great set of speed, physicality, and experience in the wide receiver position. He is capable of making an impact on special teams and is reliable in the receiver room. Peña can fit in the slot and become a go-to guy when needing a secure catch.

“Catches everything in rhythm; rarely puts the ball on the ground on throws he should have,” a NFL Draft Buzz analyst said.

They added that Peña “settles into soft spots against zone at intermediate depth like he sees the whole coverage,” which could reflect a player who understands how to read a defense.

While having a bit of a down year at Penn State, Peña could still become a role player on an NFL team. There is a possibility that he starts as a return specialist, but has strong skills in the slot and doesn’t drop the ball too often.

The 2026 NFL Draft begins at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, and ends Saturday, April 25. All seven rounds will be televised on ESPN and the NFL Network.
