Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Rises To No. 19 In Latest Inside Lacrosse Poll

Penn State women’s lacrosse moved up two places in the latest Inside Lacrosse Poll released Monday.

The Nittany Lions took on Johns Hopkins on Thursday and suffered a devastating loss after two last-minute goals by the Blue Jays sent the game into overtime. Penn State never trailed Johns Hopkins the entire game until the final shot. Despite the loss, the Nittany Lions looked strong against a competitive top-10 opponent.

Penn State dusted itself off with a win over then-ranked No. 22 Rutgers. The team led by only one goal at the end of the first half. The defense struggled throughout the game with penalties, clears, and forced only seven turnovers, but the offense stepped up with four players scoring hat tricks.

Erika Ho, Roquette Allen, Kelly MacKinney, and Payton Wainman all had at least three goals. Ho led the offense with six goals.

Penn State plays next against No. 4-seed Michigan in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament at noon on Wednesday, April 22, at UM Lacrosse Stadium.
