Three Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Players Earn All-American Honors

Three Penn State men’s lacrosse players earned USA Lacrosse All-America honors, the organization announced Thursday. Alex Ross, Jon King, and Reid Gills all earned an accolade.
Ross was named to the All-America Second Team. He had 20 caused turnovers, 30 ground balls, and started all 14 games this season. The senior from Davidsville, Maryland, has been an impact player since his freshman year and became a defensive leader for the Nittany Lions this season. Ross was also named to the First-Team All-Big Ten for the third time in four years.
King was named to the All-America Third Team as SSDM. He caused 16 turnovers, 34 ground balls, and had six points on five goals and one assist. Despite having nine shots taken this season, he had a .556 shooting percentage, which is the highest on the team. King also never started a game for Penn State, but he played in all 14. He was named to the Second-Team All-Big Ten after an impressive season.
Gills was named an All-America honorable mention. He had a total record of 113-181 on face-offs and a .624 face-off win percentage. He led the team in ground balls with 65, and also has the highest shot on goal percentage with 1.00. While he only took two shots all season, he made one, which means hes 50% accurate. He had two points on a goal and an assist.
Penn State plays Army next, facing off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Panzer Stadium.
