After a two-year hiatus, one of State College's favorite bar bands in recent history will return to the stage in State College. Table Ten, which formed in 2008, will reunite at THON 2015 (the time is confidential) and release a new song called "Take Hold of Now" (get it, THON) dedicated to the dance marathon.
Per a proclamation from Mayor Elizabeth Goreham, State College will be renamed City of THON concurrent with the 46-hour dance marathon next weekend. Goreham plans on presenting the proclamation to THON PR Director Aly Young at tonight's Borough Council meeting.
By my count, there are 32 establishments within walking distance of campus that serve alcohol. The downtown State College bar scene will welcome its 33rd member next week with the opening of Liberty, a new craft beer bar operated by Dante’s Restaurants Inc.
Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship, the advocacy organization that has acted as kingmaker in the last two Board of Trustees alumni elections, announced its slate of endorsed candidates today. As expected, trustees Anthony Lubrano and Ryan McCombie, whose terms are up this year, will both seek a second term with PS4RS support. The third PS4RS candidate, who will run for Adam Taliaferro's open spot on the board, is Harrisburg-based attorney and 1991 graduate Robert Tribeck.

One Penn State alumna isn't happy that her degree was signed by then-President Graham Spanier. Alexa Keeley, a current ESPN content editor who has worked for the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" since 2010, started a petition on Change.org out of her disgust at needing to pay $40 for a diploma without Spanier's name on it.
