THON announced last night via Facebook that it will create a new initiative to "Gold Out" the stands for this Saturday's game against Illinois to help show support for pediatric cancer awareness.
The first big event of the THON season kicked off on Saturday with the annual FT5K. The 5K began with a multitude of festivities before the race began, including the always-inspiring Kid’s Race.
We've been writing these Overheard posts for a little more than a year now, and experienced things and places like the White Loop, the morning after, and The End Zone, to name a few. But then we realized something. We've never actually written an Overheard post from inside of a bar, the source of much of the debauchery we have come to chronicle.
Students are invited to join all of their favorite Penn State celebs in wearing pink, and will be able to get their picture taken holding a sign that says why they wear pink, or fill out a ribbon in memory of someone that they fight for- all for free. Those who can't make it to the HUB can stay involved by using #PaintPSUPink on Instagram and Twitter.
Now that the THON 2014 fundraising season has officially begun, Penn State students will start receiving Facebook invitations to all kinds of fundraisers going on around campus. For the active THON volunteer, it can feel like an endless calendar full of date auction after spaghetti dinner after bake sale. To help keep track of the seemingly infinite number of THON fundraisers going on, we need your help! Please submit your organization's fundraising information using the following Google Form so that we can include it on our comprehensive THONward State event list.
