Last Stop has come and gone. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't perfect, but it definitely can't be called a failure. Despite several technical and logistical difficulties, all four acts performed to a crowd that dwarfed that of any of this spring's other festivals.
A breakdown of the night's performances and more pictures after the jump.
If you went to Celebrate State last Friday, the newest "music festival" at Penn State, you are a member of a small minority. According to Amy Zeller, one of the event's organizers, there were around 400 people who attended the event throughout the day, including "a lot of people who were here anyway enjoying the sun on the HUB lawn." The crowd grew to almost 500 around 7 p.m. for the Flobots' performance.
The Flobots were good, but definitely not worthy of being the headliner of an event such as this one. Zeller said she felt they were really relevant to students, though I felt Asher Roth's appearance last year had more relevance than the Flobots' did this year. They played most of their two albums, including their hit, "Handlebars". There were a couple dozen fans at the front who spent most of the show pumping their fists in the air, while the majority stood stoically or sat on the grass.

If you don't have too much going on already, the Student Film Organization will be hosting their 3rd annual Student Film Festival at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the State Theater.
Tickets will be $7 for the event. 15 films made by Comm students will be screened, and a DVD of the films will be available too.
While you may have heard how great Get Him to the Greek is, and that its co-stars, Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, enjoy "Would You Rather" more than they perhaps should, I wanted to offer my more in-depth take on the film.
As Jonah Hill said in the post-movie Q&A session Monday night, the film is made for "people our age" (20-somethings), and it definitely doesn't pull any punches. That being said, I found it to be one of the more though provoking "road-trip" comedies I've seen.
More of my thoughts after the jump.
Unfortunately, due to travel conflicts caused by the recent Icelandic volcano activity, British alt rock band Los Campesinos! was forced to back out of their scheduled appearance here at Penn State. Although opener Cymbals Eat Guitars is touring with Los Campesinos!, they will still be performing, Students Organizing the Multiple Arts President Danny Michelson confirmed.
In the meantime, SOMA is working hard to find a replacement act and should know if it's possible by tomorrow. Considering their track record, I'm sure they'll still manage to put on a great show.
Kappa Alpha Psi will be hosting a benefit concert supporting St. Jude's Children's Hospital, featuring rapper Juelz Santana and DJ Super Nova of Forensic Unit. The event will be at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday in HUB Heritage Hall.
The event is being co-sponsored by the University Park Allocation Committee, the Interfraternity Council, Theta Delta Chi, and Sigma Delta Tau. It will be free, so if you find some free time during your Blue and White weekend, it's worth checking out.
