Former Penn State football assistant coach Mike McQueary took the stand Friday to testify in his whistle-blower and defamation lawsuit against the university.
Spanier testified for the first time in open court about what he knew or didn’t know about allegations against Jerry Sandusky in 1998 and 2001, and about the statement he issued in support of two former administrators charged in an alleged concealment of Sandusky’s child sexual abuse.
Testifying on the third day of trial in McQueary’s lawsuit against Penn State, investigator Anthony Sassano described McQueary as a crucial figure leading to the arrest of Sandusky in 2011 on child sexual abuse charges.
The Mike McQueary v. Penn State trial continued Tuesday with testimony from former Penn State general counsel Cynthia Baldwin, former vice president for university relations Bill Mahon, and former assistant athletic director Mark Sherburne.
Penn State and Pinnacle signed a letter of intent in 2014 to form a single health enterprise under the banner of a new organization called Penn State Health.
